Te Ahurewa Tapu Mau Taiaha
Te Ahurewa Tapu Mau Taiaha, opened in July 2007 in the region of Porirua by Tua Hekenui (Ngati Tuwharetoa) and Tina Bennett (Ngati Porou/Te Arawa/Ngati Kahungunu/Rongowhakaata), who have been practising the Art of Maori Weaponary with Te Whare Tu Taua O Aotearoa for 20 years. They were both gifted the Mangai-a-rohe-o-Whanganui-a-Tara by Robin Peachey and Charmaine Whaanga under the umbrella of Koraunui Marae. With the passing of Tua Hekenui in 2012, Tina Bennett carried on the kaupapa of Te Whare Tu Taua O Aotearoa, with the support and guidance of Robin Peachey, Charmaine Whaanga, Hinemoa Ruataupare Awatere and Juanita Peachey. Tina Bennett is Te Ahorangi Tu Taua and runs the region of Te-Upoko-O-Te Ika -a-Maui . Nga mihi ki Te Whare Tu Taua O Aotearoa,Tu Kaha, Tu Rangatira, Tu Taua!!
