Te Manawa Ora was started in 2012 with only a handful of very keen, curious and very hungry whaanau for all things Maori to which most of those who pioneered Te Manawa Ora are still following this amazing kaupapa today brought to life by those before us within 'Te Whare Tu Taua O Aotearoa' which was founded by our Tumu Whakarae
Taa Pita Sharples - Ngai Te Kikiri O Te Rangi, Ngati Kahungunu.
One of the biggest misconceptions is that Tu Taua is just a fighting art form and yet it is so much more than that.
The Taiaha is a vehicle that will take you on a life changing journey.
There are 8 levels to be obtained within the kaupapa to which each level has an 'Atua' to which the Tauira (student) will have to complete assignments and research pertaining to that Atua.
All of the assignments and research encapsulates 'Tikanga, Kawa, Maatauranga, Tirohanga Maori'.
This can be a template for your life as a Maori living in this diverse and ever changing world, why should we need to change who we are, this is what makes us who we are and that's what makes us a very unique people.
